Authorization Management
Building an Action-Oriented ABA Authorization Worklist
A worklist has an owner, a priority, a next action, and a way to confirm it was done.
Draft article. Rule-specific educational content is published with effective dates and source references once reviewed.
Most authorization reports describe a population. A worklist addresses a person: these are your records, ranked, with the reason they surfaced.
Useful columns are the ones that determine the next action — gap after scheduled hours, days remaining, authorized remaining hours, and the condition that triggered the row.
Drill-through to the record detail matters more than additional summary visuals. The reviewer's next step is almost always to look at one authorization.
